Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has announced a cabinet reshuffle for the emirate, appointing astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi as Minister for Youth Affairs.
AlNeyadi made history by becoming the first Arab astronaut to complete a six-month long mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
AlNeyadi and his Crew-6 colleagues returned to Earth on September 4, 2023 after completing the mission. The crew aboard the SpaceX Dragon Endeavor splashed down off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida.

In his cabinet reshuffle, Sheikh Mohammed also appointed Maktoum Bin Mohammed as Deputy Prime Minister for Financial and Economic Affairs in UAE, Mohammed Fadel Al Mazrouei appointed as Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mariam Almheiri as Head of the International Affairs Office in the Presidential Court, and Dr Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi as Minister of Environment and Climate Change
