Motorists in Dubai are urged to plan their journeys ahead of time to avoid potential delays caused by the UAE Tour 2024 cycling event taking place on Thursday.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has cautioned that traffic disruptions are expected during the event, with delays of 10 to 15 minutes anticipated at specific junctions.
The RTA issued a statement via social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, advising residents to set out early to ensure smooth travel.
Road closure
According to the RTA, temporary traffic suspensions will be implemented at certain intersections to accommodate the passage of cyclists, in collaboration with Dubai Police.

The cycling route is set to commence on Oud Metha Road, traversing through key areas including Al Maktoum Bridge, Baniyas Street, Al Khaleej Street, Al Wasl Street, Al Safa Street, and Financial Centre Street.
Later stages of the tour will cover locations such as Umm Sequim Street, Al Qudra Road, Saih Al Salam Street, Expo Road, Garn Al Sabkha Street, and First Al Khail Street before concluding near Palm Jumeirah.
The UAE Tour 2024 commenced on Monday, February 19, and is scheduled to culminate with its seventh and final stage on Sunday, February 25.
Motorists are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly to minimise inconvenience during the event.
