The current sunny weather could disappear over the weekend predicts the UAE’s weather man with a low pressure system developing in the Arabian Gulf.
Starting Sunday, and extending in to the new week, the UAE is bracing for a notable weather change, forecast the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
A surface low-pressure system, combined with an upper air depression, will influence weather patterns, along with a westerly trough bringing intermittent cloud cover along with rain showers.
Sky conditions
Expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rainfall may occur intermittently in Northern, Eastern, and coastal regions. Residents, especially in western areas, should anticipate a drop in temperatures.

Winds
Winds are predicted to shift from Southeasterly to Northwesterly, ranging from light to moderate, with occasional fresh gusts. Blowing dust and sand may reduce visibility, particularly in areas with cloud cover.
Sea conditions
Mariners and beachgoers should exercise caution, with the sea expected to be slight to moderate, occasionally becoming rough, especially in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Residents are hence advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions during this weather event to ensure safety and preparedness.
Southeastern wind activity along Arabian Sea coast may cause dust and reduced visibility in desert areas.
Oman weather forecast
The Oman Meteorology office has issued a similar weather alert for the the country, starting Sunday evening and persisting for several days.
The met department forecast scattered rains with occasional thundershowers in Musandam, coastal areas of the Oman Sea, and potentially extending to Al Hajar mountains.
Additionally, moderate sea conditions are expected along western Musandam and Oman Sea coasts, with waves reaching 1.5 – 2.5 meters.
Along with rain, wind activity along the Arabian Sea coast may cause dust and reduced visibility in desert areas.
Winter temperatures
The UAE has seen a dip in temperatures this week with the Jais mountain range witnessing the mercury dropping to 8 degrees C.
