Shah Rukh Khan announces ‘affordable’ property in Dubai worth Rs 4,000 crore, says his mother would have been proud: ‘Dekh

Actor Shah Rukh Khan is certainly having a tremendous year outside the sphere of Bollywood. After becoming an official billionaire, he is now set to have his identity set in the sands of Dubai. A real estate company from Dubai recently announced that they are planning to build a tower which will be named after the actor. The property will be called ‘Shahrukhz’ and will even feature a statue of the actor in front of it.

During the announcement event for the same in Mumbai, the actor was his witty self as he said that his mother would have been proud if she saw this. “What can I say? Meri maa zinda hoti toh boht khush hoti (If my mother were alive, she’d be very happy). I think it’s a very big honour, and now whenever I come to Dubai with my kids, I will point to the building and say, ‘Dekho papa ki building hai’ (Look, it’s our dad’s building). I think it’s wonderful, and I have been seeing the details for the project for the past couple of months; it’s all very beautiful and state of the art,” said Shah Rukh.

He added that the property by Danube will be very “affordable” for someone who is just starting out on their journey in the city. He said, “It’s also very affordable, especially for the people who are starting out their lives in Dubai and they want to get somewhere in their lives. I think for them this is going to be such a big boon and hopefully an inspiration.” AT the event, it was announced that the entire valuation of the tower is around Rs 4,000 crore.

Even though the actor expressed his happiness that the property was named after him, he mentioned that this would be the first time that something like this will bear his name. “I never name anything after me. Look at the name of my company (Red Chillies Entertainment) and my house (Mannat). I don’t find myself so important that I should take things and put my name on them. Except for film because that’s my work and something I worship.”

The property, which will be ready in another 3-4 years, will be built across 1 million square feet. It will possess over 40 amenities for its residents, such as free of cost clubs, outdoor lounges, gymnasiums, and even an helipad. The aforementioned built-up area will be distributed across 56 storeys. The price of the units will reportedly start from $460k (Rs 4.2 crore) and the project is set to be completed by 2029.
