As reported by Kenyans.co, the appointment of the new cabinet members suffered some push back from parliamentary members.
Eldas MP Adan Keynan cautioned the new Cabinet members against overreach and abuse of power, stating; “Humility is not a sign of cowardice. We must avoid the opulence that has tainted previous administrations,” Keynan advised.”
Another MP, Beatrice Elachi, urged the new cabinet members to diligently follow the President’s agenda. “They are here to serve Kenyans and support the President, not to act independently,” she said.
According to The Star, the new cabinet members are; Interior and National Administration CS Kithure Kindiki, Defence CS Soipan Tuya, John Mbadi (National Treasury), Justin Muturi (Public Service), Aden Duale (Environment, Climate Change and Forestry).
Others include; Lands CS Alice Wahome was next to take the oath, followed by Julius Ogamba (Education), Davis Chirchir (Transport), and Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife).
Hassan Joho (Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime affairs), Alfred Mutua (Labour and Social protection), Eric Muuga (Water and Sanitation), Salim Mvurya (Investment, Trade and Industry), Debra Barasa (Health) and Kipchumba Murkomen (Youth Affairs and Sports) also followed respectively.
Ministry of Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi was next to be sworn in, followed by Margaret Nyambura (ICT and Digital Economy), Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives) and Andrew Karanja (Agriculture and Livestock Development).
