New Year holiday announced for UAE private, public sector

The UAE has declared Monday, January 1, 2024, as the New Year holiday for public and private sector workers in the country, marking a three-day-long weekend from Saturday, December 30, 2023.

A circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources on Thursday shows that regular work hours will resume on Tuesday 2 January.

Similarly, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has declared a public holiday on New Year’s Day for all employees in the private sector.

“The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announces that Monday, January 1, 2024, will be New Year’s Day paid holiday for all private sector employees in UAE,” MoHRE said in a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
