Giving information about the new work at village Rohrai, the spokesperson added, “At present drinking water supply is provided to village Rohrai from canal based scheme at village Rojhuwas, Rewari. The present water supply status is 52 LPCD (water in litre per capita per day) which is not adequate as per the present demand in view of the considerable distance from water works. In order to ensure drinking water supply to the village @70 LPCD, it is proposed to construct an independent canal based waterworks for village Rohrai, including remaining distribution pipelines within the village. With the completion of the canal based waterworks, sustainable drinking water supply will be available which will provide multiple benefits to the villagers besides ensuring water security to the Rohrai”.
Khattar also directed officers to commence the approved projects at the earliest and also to set up a deadline in order to complete the projects in the stipulated time frame.
“Haryana is a forerunner in providing piped water supply facilities in the rural areas. The drinking water supply schemes are predominantly based on tubewells / surface sources and Ranney Wells. Distribution system is also laid in the villages for facilitating private water connections. Haryana is the third state of the country where every family in the rural areas has started getting clean tap water in their homes”, the spokesperson said.
