A massive traffic congestion choked the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway (NH 48) in Gurgaon on Monday, following incessant rainfall that triggered widespread waterlogging across the district.
A viral video showing hundreds of stranded vehicles on the expressway sparked public outrage. Between 3 pm and 7 pm, several parts of Gurgaon recorded over 100 mm of rain, with Wazirabad tehsil logging a staggering 116 mm between 8 am and 6 pm.
Sharing the video, an X user, Nitesh Sharma, wrote, “To the government and elected officials, Please take responsibility for the complete breakdown in #Gurugram #Gurgaon caused by the rains. This level of destruction is utterly unacceptable. We deserve better returns for the substantial tax money we contribute. This is truly disgraceful.”
