Vadodara District Magistrate and Collector, A B Gor, who was tasked to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the Harni boat capsize incident that killed 12 students and two teachers on January 18, has submitted a report to the home department. He submitted the report on Friday after a 21-day probe.
Gor is, meanwhile, set to handover charge to his successor B M Shah as the Vadodara collector. He was last week transferred as officer on special duty (OSD) in the Chief Ministers’ Office (CMO). Gor said on Saturday, “I have submitted the report… I will join duty as OSD (CMO) on Monday.”
Gor had sought two extensions to complete the inquiry, saying he needed time to “gather documents”. The magisterial inquiry examined documents from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation regarding the contract it awarded to Kotia Projects to develop and run the Lake Zone at Motnath Lake in Harni, as well as police inquiry reports.
