Dubai Police issue warning to motorists

Dubai Police issued a warning to motorists on Tuesday as unstable weather conditions loom, urging them to exercise extreme caution. Drivers are advised to strictly adhere to traffic laws, reduce speed, and maintain a safe distance while driving, the police emphasised.

Additionally, motorists are urged to refrain from distractions and avoid photography, particularly in valleys or steep roads, due to the inherent dangers involved.

Vehicle preparedness emphasised

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, stressed the importance of vehicle readiness.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed on external roads and ensure that all vehicle components, including the engine, tires, brakes, windshield wipers, and lights, are in optimal condition.

Ensuring road safety

In areas prone to water pooling, drivers are advised to be vigilant on turns, while maintaining awareness of potential hazards such as sudden braking or vehicles entering from side turnings.

Proper use of windshield wipers to maintain visibility is also encouraged, along with avoiding unnecessary stops without signaling and refraining from using hazard indicators except in emergencies.
