Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced nol Card as a payment option for electric scooter users, further integrating the city’s transport ecosystem.
The move, applicable to scooters operated by RTA-accredited providers, aligns with Dubai’s drive toward a cashless economy and enhances nol Card’s versatility as a payment solution.
“We integrated nol Card into the e-scooter payment ecosystem, particularly near public transport stations,” said Salahuddin AlMarzooqi, director of Automated Collection Systems at RTA. “This supports our vision of improving first and last-mile connectivity while providing a seamless and user-friendly experience.”
Users can activate the service by downloading the respective apps.
Nol Card used for various transport services
Nol Card, already accepted across public transport modes such as metro, buses, and trams, extends its reach to private services like taxis and marine transport, as well as retail, public parking, and facility access.
RTA has also introduced tailored nol packages, including student and travel discounts, offering benefits across dining, shopping, and entertainment sectors.
The authority is upgrading its nol system to an account-based system, enabling trip planning, booking, and pre-payment through smart channels.
