The UAE will mark its 52nd Union Day on December 2.

While it is a joyous occasion for citizens and residents to celebrate the union of the emirates, the Ministry of Interior has issued an advisory for the do’s and don’t for the celebrations.

UAE’s Ministry of Interior publishes rules

The MOI published a notification on its social media accounts enumerating the rules that had been put in place to ensure a respectful celebration.

Here’s a list of UAE Union Day rules:

Ensure that you abide by traffic rules and instructions of police personnel.

Those celebrating the Union Day should ensure that music volumes are kept low and do not disturb neighbours or those in the surrounding.

What’s not allowed?

      • Marches and unplanned gatherings that attract big crowds
      • Using party spray of any kind by motorists, passengers or pedestrians
      • Tampering with a car’s number plates
      • Changing vehicle colour
      • Blackout or windshield tinting
      • Writing phrases or putting inappropriate stickers on vehicles
      • Exceeding the permitted vehicle occupancy limit
      • Sticking your head out of the windows or opening the sunroof of the vehicle and behaving dangerously
      • Vehicles may not be provided with noise materials or have unlicensed additions to the engine structure or extensions that restrict visibility
      • Motorists are not allowed to disrupt traffic or block others’ roads
      • Showy reckless driving is not permitted on internal and external roads.
      • It is illegal to cover the side window, front or real windshields of the vehicle with stickers or place a front sunshade.
      • Raising flags of any country other than the UAE’s
      • Shop owners are not allowed to put up any posters or flags that don’t relate to UAE Union Day

The notification added that not adhering to the rules of celebrations risk immediate fines and the vehicle being impounded, added MOI.
