Armed with swords, sticks, and baseball bats, around 20-25 masked miscreants unleashed a violent spree of vandalism after storming a cafe in Madhya Pradesh’s capital city of Bhopal.
The attackers stormed the Magic Spot Cafe, located on Hoshangabad Road in Bhopal’s Misrod area, on the night of November 18. The attackers can be seen causing extensive damage to property as customers scramble to flee.
According to eyewitnesses and CCTV footage that captured the entire event, the attackers, with their faces covered, entered the cafe and smashed furniture, glass panels, counters, and electronic equipment in just minutes.
The staff was assaulted during the rampage, with one employee sustaining a sword injury, and a customer’s finger was fractured after being hit with a stick. The chaos led to panic among customers, especially couples, who fled to save themselves.
The cafe owner, Saksham Goswami, who reportedly has no known disputes, has filed an FIR naming five individuals. Police have not found evidence of robbery and are considering personal enmity or business rivalry as possible causes. Two suspects have already been taken into custody for questioning, with investigations ongoing.
Said a senior police officer, “The attack appears to be a targeted act of vandalism rather than a theft. Three police stations of Misrod, Bagsewania, and Katara Hills are working jointly on the case, analysing CCTV footage and gathering witness testimonies to uncover further details.”
