AILET 2026 Registration Open: The National Law University (NLU) Delhi on August 7 opened the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 application window. Candidates can register for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes for the 2026-27 academic year at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.
The online application for AILET 2026 will close on November 10. AILET 2026 will be held on December 14.
Candidates will have to select three cities to take the exam. AILET 2026 will be held in cities including Ahmedabad, Asansol, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Dehradun, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Greater Noida, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Gwalior, Jamshedpur, Haldwani, Hisar, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. In case the number of the candidates at any test city is less than 100, the test centre will not be created in that city and candidate will be allotted test city as per their second or third preference of test city, NLU Delhi in the official statement said.
The eligibility criteria against minimum qualifying marks for admission to the undergraduate (UG) programme is 45 per cent marks in Class 12 exam. For OBC, the minimum qualifying marks is 42 per cent and in caase of SC and ST, the minimum qualifying marks is 40 per cent. Candidates appearing Class 12 in 2026 will also be eligible for AILET 2026.
To become eligible for LLM (one-year) non-residential programme, candidates must have an LLB or an equivalent law degree with 50 per cent marks. For students belonging to SC, ST and persons with disabilities, the minimum pass percentage required would be 45 per cent. Earlier, it was 55 per cent marks for UR category students and 50 per cent for reserved categories.
Candidates will have to apply online by paying an application fee of Rs 3,000. The application fee for SC/ST candidates and persons with disabilities (PwD) is Rs 1000. SC/ST and women candidates who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants are exempted from payment of the online application fee.
NLU Delhi will conduct the All India Entrance Test (AIET) on May 3, 2026, for admissions to its Postgraduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP) — offered as a one-year Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Laws (LLM), the two-year Joint Master’s/LLM Programme in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management, and the PhD Programme. The detailed admission notification for AIET 2026 will be released in January 2026, and online application forms for these programmes will be available on the official website starting January 7, 2026.
