JSW Steel reported its highest ever quarterly consolidated crude steel production of 7.63 million tonnes (mt) for Q4 FY25, representing a 9 per cent increase quarter-on-quarter and 12 per cent year-on-year growth, according to the company announcement today.

The shares of JSW Steel Limited were trading at ₹930.90 — down by ₹74.85 or 7.44 per cent on the NSE today at 3.05 pm.

The company’s Indian operations achieved a record 7.40 mt crude steel production in the quarter, up 9 per cent from the previous quarter and 13 per cent from the same period last year. Capacity utilisation at Indian operations stood at 93 per cent for Q4 FY25, excluding trial production.

The 5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel project at Vijayanagar, operated by wholly owned subsidiary JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd (JVML), continues to progress with the commissioning of one of two convertors and castors at the Steel Melt Shop during Q3 FY25. Once fully operational, this facility will increase Vijayanagar’s total crude steel capacity to 17.5 MTPA and contribute to JSW Steel’s overall Indian operation’s crude steel capacity of 34.2 MTPA.

For the full fiscal year 2025, JSW Steel’s consolidated production reached 27.79 mt, marking a 5 per cent increase over FY24. The total combined volumes, including all operations, grew by 4 per cent to 27.79 mt.

JSW Steel, the flagship business of the $24 billion JSW Group, has grown from a single manufacturing unit to become India’s leading integrated steel company with a consolidated crude steel capacity of 35.7 MTPA, including 1.5 MTPA in the US. The company plans to expand its consolidated capacity to 43.5 MTPA over the next three years.
