Dubai-based luxury real estate firm, Imtiaz Developments, has announced a strategic partnership with the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG), the region’s foremost environmental NGO, as part of its commitment to sustainability.

The developer has pledged to plant a tree for every apartment it builds, aligning its construction efforts with environmental responsibility.

The initiative, which launches this year, aims to plant over 2,000 trees during its initial phase, representing a significant effort to reduce the carbon footprint of the UAE’s construction sector.

By integrating this programme into their development projects, Imtiaz Developments seeks to invest not only in Dubai’s urban future but also in global environmental health, it said.

Mr. Ernest Edward Pallett, Director of Business Strategy at Imtiaz Developments and Ms. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, Co-Founder and Chairperson of Emirates Environmental Group, formalise the groundbreaking partnership with Imtiaz Developments, marking the launch of a green initiative to plant a tree for every apartment built.

“As developers, we acknowledge our duty to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future,” said Masih Imtiaz, CEO of Imtiaz Developments.

“Through this initiative, we aim to set a new industry benchmark, proving that luxury can coexist with sustainability. Our partnership with Emirates Environmental Group underscores our mission to create innovative, eco-conscious communities.”

EEG will lend its expertise and resources to ensure the project’s success. Habiba Al Mar’ashi, co-founder and chairperson of EEG, emphasised the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.

“Our partnership with Imtiaz Developments showcases the powerful role corporate responsibility can play. By planting 2,000 native trees, we are not only enhancing Dubai’s green landscape but also promoting sustainable practices across the corporate sector and community. This initiative reflects both organisations’ shared vision for a more sustainable UAE.”

With this initiative, Imtiaz Developments continues to solidify its reputation for luxury and innovation while setting a new standard in sustainable real estate development. It offers a blueprint for future projects, where both people and the planet are prioritised.
