Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM) mentioned on Sunday that the workers strike has ended at its Esso refinery in Fos-sur-Mer in southern France and items that had been shut down are being restarted, though it’s not clear if a labor deal has been reached.
The walkouts began on June 28 with employees demanding increased wages to cowl inflation, a part of wider union efforts through the previous week which have hit different power corporations in France.
The Fos website has a refining capability of 7M metric tons/12 months, which equates to ~10% of France’s complete refining capability, based on the corporate.
The power sector strikes come as France’s authorities is beneath strain to alleviate surging inflation, asking power corporations to help customers cope with high fuel prices by extending and increasing rebates.
