MANILA (Reuters) – Philippine cell pockets GCash has raised greater than $175 million in capital from New York-based personal fairness fund Bow Wave Capital Administration, the monetary expertise arm of Globe Telecom Inc stated.
The capital injection raises the valuation of GCash to shut to $1 billion, based on Globe’s disclosure to the inventory change on Monday. Bow Wave now has a 14% stake in Mynt, which operates GCash, by way of a neighborhood fund it manages.
